Precious and Harvard University

In April 2025, I embarked on a journey that has truly reshaped how I see myself as a leader. I enrolled in the Girls for Girls (G4G) Leadership Program, a global mentorship initiative that was first born out of Harvard University. Imagine that! Sometimes I joke that I feel like a Harvard scholar already.

This chance came as a blessing through my placement at a law firm where I volunteer, with the kind support of my sponsors, Small Is Beautiful Africa (SIBA) who encouraged me to dive in as I wait to graduate with My Bachelor of Laws Degree come October 2025.

From April to September, I joined inspiring monthly mentorship sessions in the G4G Lawyers Cohort and each month came with its own “aha” moments.

We explored powerful topics like Building Trust, Courageous Leadership, The Art of Communication, Negotiating, Advocating for Yourself and Others, Public Service and Running for Office, and Ethics and Values in Decision-Making.

Every session added a new layer to my growth. The art of communication helped me find my voice and express myself with more confidence, whether at work or in personal spaces. Negotiating taught me how to hold my ground without losing respect. Advocating for yourself and others reminded me that leadership is not about climbing alone but lifting others as you rise.

The most transformative lesson, though, was courageous leadership. I realized that leadership is not about titles or positions , it is about impact, responsibility, and integrity.

By the time we discussed ethics and values, I understood that leadership is a practice you live every day, not some distant dream.

This program has given me wings. At the law firm, I now step into discussions with courage, share ideas boldly, and take initiative where I once hesitated. Beyond that, I feel called to pass on what I have learned to encourage other young women around me, just as I have been encouraged.

I remain profoundly grateful to SIBA and my placement firm for believing in me. Their support has not only shaped my journey but will ripple out into the lives of many others I hope to inspire.

As I look ahead to graduating from the G4G program on 4th October, I carry one conviction with me: to live with courage, lead with purpose, and spark inspiration wherever I go. Truly, this is just the beginning of a lifelong adventure in leadership.
